Have been in a sulk since I first read it actually, even though I should know better. Logically, I know it's nothing personal. But.....
I hope not anyway.
Sigh. Maybe I should just grow up.

As stated before, in no way was this meant to be personal - just an overview for all the writers currently on the site.
This has been very helpful, I have got to say, but now I am terribly confused about my new fan-fic as there are so many things in my fan fic which from this, I have learnt might make it a story not worth reading.

Becca, are you on about the over-used plotlines and OC?
Not that I'm saying you have them, I'm just taking a wild guess.
If you have, it doesn't matter whether you follow the plotlines we indicated; but, if your story is one with a story line that has already been presented on the forum, what makes your story different?
It's just different elements that work well - again, you don't have to follow our guidelines, they're only there to 'guide and help' you, it's even in the name. If you like your story, then post it.
And as we said, (or I think we said), the overused plotlines or whatever, aren't always bad, they can be really great, but because they're overused, there are less impassioned writers doing it and this gives the story less of an impact?
Does that make sense without insulting anyone?

yeah, the over-used storyline is really getting to me, but I think there are some things that might make mine slightly different, hopefully...
I want to follow your guidelines as you're both really good writers and know what you're on about.

That really makes sense yeah.
But I'm not very creative so I can't think of anything that really stands out as a story.
It's not insulting at all, like I said up there somewhere^^ You both know what you're on about and are giving good advice.
