Heheh, I highly advise you purchase the C&C First Decade collection, well worth the money. I've been playing C&C Generals the last few nights.

I have C&C 1, Tiberian sun, generals and the expansion and red alert.
the C&C that had to go back was the new one Tiberian Wars. But I think your right Richard, I need to pick up the full first decade collection.

C&C is one of the best game series around.
deffinatly the best RTS's
though I also like the Dawn Of War series.

I've played the C&C3 demo a few times and found it very much like Generals, which makes it a bit of a disappointment, plus the new controls are just stupid, with the right click for Action and such. It's most likely because C&C games don't seem to work in a 3D environment, which is why Red Alert 2 being 2D is my favourite, it's got the best of everything and was created by the original Developers at Westwood before they got bought out, which was a sad moment in the C&C series.
