^ That's because they've sold out, their original stuff was more emo.

It was really getting on my nerves while I read the whole article, and then I saw this comment, it tells the truth :D

Fucking brilliant. This person deserves a medal.
So yeah, fuck media. They are just trying to shape our perceptions on almost everything, including this "emo" thingy.

It's really annoying how you all are just bitching and moaning about the dude stereotyping. Get the hell over it. It's gonna happen whether you like it or not.
At least this article is somewhat researched and not just some made up shit.

Thankyou for saying that. It's SO true and most people look past it.

why do MCR have the "emo" label? Mainly because of what they've been painted as by their fans. It's stupid...let a band be a band, not an excuse to call yourself a label.

I liked the article, actually. I found it really encouraging that there are people who aren't buying into the hype and are taking the time to look into it more objectively. Sure, not all of what he said was correct, but I loved in particular the comments from other readers. I think this is a positive step worward, and not something to bitch about.

Incidentally...there have ALWAYS been fights over labels applied to teen social groups. Whenever a trend pops up - goth, emo, punk, grunge, whatever - some kids jump on the bandwagon, some kids have a conniption over how there is NO WAY that label applies to them and their music, and a bunch of parents freak out. Who cares, honestly? If you dress in emo fashion and listen to bands people think are emo, you are GOING to be thought of as an emo kid. It doesn't matter.

Just my opinion.
